Every year, the town has a 'Big Cheese' festival where admittance to the castle is free, actually its happening this weekend, I highly recommend going to the castle while this festival is in progress. I do miss my hometown, and this magnificent castle.

Re: 6 Differences between Expat life in London versus Dubai

Thanks Karisa, love living in Dubai and looking forward to travelling a lot more whilst I'm based here.

Re: 6 Differences between Expat life in London versus Dubai

Thanks Lisa, hope you're well!

Re: 6 Differences between Expat life in London versus Dubai

Congrats on your 6 month anniversary! I've been on several and I love them! Great that you got to hold a falcon, I'm in love with those birds, they are so beautiful. Did you know the airlines in the Gulf, like Emirates or Etihad, allow passengers to bring their falcons into the cabin with them? I thought that was very cool when I found that out (sadly I've never seen one though).

Re: Things I learnt from living in a Dubai hotel

Hi Carmen,
Yes living in a hotel becomes like Groundhog Day after awhile!

Re: Things I learnt from living in a Dubai hotel

Hi Noor
No I wasn't in a 5 star hotel but I'm now happily living in Dubai Marina, its a lovely area and right by the beach!

Re: Things I learnt from living in a Dubai hotel

What an insight. Hotels do my head in, I could never live there long term. I love Airbnb over hotel accommodation because it's usually cheaper and you get your own kitchen :-)

Re: Things I learnt from living in a Dubai hotel

I guess it depends on what hotel you stay in if a month in a hotel is a good thing or not. There are countless hotels in Dubai that I could live in for months but as they are 5 star with prices to match somebody else would have to be paying! And I would miss being able to make my own food, I'd prefer a serviced apartment to a hotel if it was long term.

Is your new apartment in Dubai Marina? (as in the photo).

Re: Why I Loved Living in a London Hostel

No worries Isa, have fun if you're visiting London soon!

Re: Why I Loved Living in a London Hostel

sorry just saw that you've already answered this question

Re: Why I Loved Living in a London Hostel

Hey Natasha :)
It sounds so very interesting.
I know the post is a little old now but i would be so delighted if you would let me know what hostel it was?
Thank you :)

Re: The Next Glampacking Adventure: Living in Dubai

Would love to visit Oman!
