I've also written about this trip on my blog. It's one of my favourite days out anywhere in the world, I just love it. The thrill of having the dolphins playing alongside the dhow is unforgettable.

Street food in singapore was great to me. I sure found some odd stuff that i didn't like. But I loved most of it.

Great article!! You make me miss Singapore food so much. OH how I miss hawker food stands and kaya toast.. Although we have taiyaki here in Japan, Singapore has the best food!!

I was born and grew up in the town, I even went to school opposite the castle, a scene I saw everyday in school. Every year, the town has a 'Big Cheese' festival where admittance to the castle is free, actually its happening this weekend, I highly recommend going to the castle while this festival is in progress. I do miss my hometown, and this magnificent castle.

Hi Natasha, No.44 King St cafe is closed! I only discovered it a few months ago when I returned to Perth for a visit and couldn't find it. It was a sad day.

Desert safaris *are* incredibly touristy and not at all authentic but no less fun for that. I've been on several and I love them! Great that you got to hold a falcon, I'm in love with those birds, they are so beautiful. Did you know the airlines in the Gulf, like Emirates or Etihad, allow passengers to bring their falcons into the cabin with them? I thought that was very cool when I found that out (sadly I've never seen one though).

No I wasn't in a 5 star hotel but I'm now happily living in Dubai Marina, its a lovely area and right by the beach!

What an insight. Hotels do my head in, I could never live there long term. I love Airbnb over hotel accommodation because it's usually cheaper and you get your own kitchen :-)

I guess it depends on what hotel you stay in if a month in a hotel is a good thing or not. There are countless hotels in Dubai that I could live in for months but as they are 5 star with prices to match somebody else would have to be paying! And I would miss being able to make my own food, I'd prefer a serviced apartment to a hotel if it was long term.

Is your new apartment in Dubai Marina? (as in the photo).
